What to Look for in a Luxury Apartment in New York

A luxury apartment in New York can go for millions of dollars if bought and often demand several thousand in rent per month, so when you are considering this living option you should be sure that the apartment you choose is everything you want in an apartment. While personal taste will certainly play a role, there are a few universals that you will need to consider.

Cost

This is true of any apartment, but especially a luxury apartment in New York. You need to make sure you are going to be able to afford the apartment, and that you are not going to miss the extra income, you will be spending on your lease each month. Prices will vary greatly by the amenities included with the apartment, and especially location. An apartment on the outskirts of the city is not going to cost as much as luxury apartments in Manhattan.

Parking

Having a car in New York can often be more of a burden than a benefit, but nonetheless many residents do own cars. If you fall into this group, you will want to check with the building manager or landlord before you sign a lease and make sure you are going to have a spot to park. When you are paying for a luxury apartment you expect certain things. Parking should definitely be one of those things.

Storage

Real Estate is expensive in New York; that is why a luxury apartment can easily cost more than a mortgage in other parts of the state, so you should see what your storage options are. Many apartments will offer a basement storage unit to its residents. This can be a great bonus if you have more stuff than you can easily fit into your apartment. It will also help you keep your apartment free of clutter since you can store your seasonal items in the storage unit.

These are just a few things to consider when you are looking for a luxury apartment in Manhattan, but it is ultimately going to come down to personal preference.
